Liz Farmer is perhaps the more witty of the top columnists. Looking at the Dallas Morning News webpage, one will find at least one of her articles featured. She often collaborates with other reporters to create articles as well. However, looking at her personal page shows that she writes mainly on crime and public relations. The titles of these articles are also amusing to read, such as “Bullet grazes man’s butt after beer run in Far East Dallas” and “United Airlines flight delayed after scorpion emerges from passenger’s clothing in Houston” which also manage to reflect the stories factually. She seems to enjoy making creative statements without exaggerating the truth. Her style in these articles have a lighthearted tone to them, if not purely factual in reporting. Like other columnists, she appeals to the logic of the reader, and some of the bizarreness of her stories to give credibility.
